From a very young age I have been lucky enough to live in the countryside with abundant wildlife
on my doorstep. I have always had an enthusiasm for nature, been fascinated by the astonishing
variety whether it is birds, animals, flowers or insects, and a love of the outdoors. My head was
nearly always in a pond…and that is where I am happiest – with nature.
However taking up photography has opened up a whole new dimension to my life. I feel I have been given the key to unlock the door to Locker C18 – Grand Central Station, New York, planet Earth! It has opened up a small, albeit large, whole new world.
Photography for me now is a very powerful visual expression of memorable and rather intimate, brief moments in time; each shot holding a special meaning. Things that have captured my interest and imagination, dazzling my sense with their own particular strength and beauty or being delightfully stunning and colourful. I would like to think that the photographs in certain cases reveal something new, previously unseen aspect or behaviour that would maybe have gone unnoticed or unappreciated.
I want to share my passion of the natural world through my lens – with you.
